My name is David LeRoy and I have an unusual hobby -- I photograph historic milestones. I do this for the thrill of finding an item which may have survived the elements for as much as 200 years. Because of their vulnerability, I am compelled to record the presence of these milestones and do what I can to promote their preservation. The results of my quest to find milestones is the book, Roadside Survivors.
Roadside Survivors includes pictures of 100 surviving milestones and information about the turnpikes and post roads along which they were placed. David LeRoy, the book's author, has located over 400 surviving milestones in the Northeastern US, all of which are included in a tabulation describing each of the milestones and their location. The book is 8 1/2 by 11 inches in size and contains 100 pages. The cost of the book is $30 (plus $1.80 tax for PA residents).
